Sheridan prides itself on being able to offer students a creative and innovative environment to work and learn in, therefore, Student Advisement, the Financial Aid Office, along with your First Year Connections Peer Mentors are bringing back the Sheridan Creative Writing Contest.
First year students across every Sheridan campus (Davis, Trafalgar, HMC, and STC) will have the opportunity to create a short story based on your experience at Sheridan. Let us know what being a student at Sheridan is like for you and what you are hoping to accomplish in the future.
Here are the details:
Contest runs from: January 26, 2015 – February 20, 2015
Theme for Event: “Tell Us Your Story”
o Create a fictional or non-fictional written submission highlighting your experience at Sheridan
• What you hope to achieve at Sheridan?
• What your first week at Sheridan was like?
• Be Creative!!!
o For submission:
Short story (1000 – 1500 words)
Student Advisement and First Year Connections will be awarding first, second, and third place prizes to those submissions selected across all Sheridan campuses. If you are interested in participating, here are the dates within which you can submit your work:
o All entries must be submitted by February 20, 2015 no later than 5pm (late entries will not be accepted)
Submit entry as a Microsoft Word document by email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
o Remember to attach the Financial Aid scholarship agreement located on the Sheridan College website at https://www.sheridancollege.ca/admissions/financial-aid-and-awards/awards-and-scholarships/bursaries.aspx
