Here you can find pictures of the current HMC Campus First year Connections Peer Mentors, and a little more info about them. Enjoy! 🙂
I am going into my 3rd year of the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration program, majoring in Marketing Management. I chose to become a Peer Mentor because I wanted to help first year students have a great first year! My advice to first year students is to focus on time management and keep track of deadlines.
Fun Fact: I was a member of the Sheridan Competition team for the Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition.
I am going into my 3rd year of the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration program, majoring in Accounting. I chose to become a Peer Mentor because I love Sheridan College and I wanted to help first year students have a smooth transition into post-secondary life. This is my first year as a Peer Mentor and I am very excited to be a part of the First Year Connections team! One piece of advice I would give to first year students would be to check Slate and your Sheridan email regularly. Deadlines can approach very quickly so it’s good to stay on top of things.
Fun Fact: I was the VP for Internal Communications for the Accounting Student Association last year!
I am going into my 2nd year of the Business Administration program, majoring in Accounting. This is my first year on the job. I joined the Peer Mentor team because I wanted to try something new. I have never done anything like this before and I thought it would be a great way to meet new people and work in a fresh and unique environment. The best piece of advice I can give to first year students is to try to get involved on campus even before classes begin. Orientation is a great way to start! Throughout the year, there are countless events that are organized across so many departments. Getting involved on campus can open up doors for you not only socially, but professionally as well.
Fun Fact: I hate ice cream, it tastes cheap… Sorry but there is something about it that tastes very odd.
